They're Cousins...Identical Cousins...

Well, not really, but does anybody else remember that show? I thought it was cute...
Luke came down for a visit last week while his mom and dad were in Virginia at Candidate Conference for the IMB. We all went to Kindermusik together on Tuesday and several of the moms mistook Luke for Nicklas, and vice versa. Here's some cute pictures from the week...

What's up? You look familiar...

I'll pick your nose for you...

Smiley boy...that's his best smile: with the tongue out!

Nicklas and Robert at Kindermusik.

I had it first! Mine! Mine!

This one was a little groggy at class that morning.

Visiting with Family

This weekend Robert and I are down visiting his parents in Waycross, GA. It's about a five hour trip (without stops) from home to get here. They have not seen Nicklas since Christmas, so Grandma and Grandpa have had a good time getting to know him these last couple days. I however, forgot to bring my camera, so no pictures to post just yet. We also got to spend some time with my nephew Luke this week while he was down visiting my Mom while my brother and sister-in-law are in Virginia. I will have pictures to post when I get home. It's nice to spend time with my son and my hubby without feeling rushed, as I so often do. Work has been steady for me and Robert's busy wrapping up the end of the school year. I will be busy from now until we go to the beach on June 20th! (I'm not counting down the days yet...maybe I should...)

I forgot how warm and buggy (literally, there are bugs everywhere) it is in south Georgia. It was 91 degrees outside today; Nicklas and I went for a walk and both got really sweaty! Yuck! I'm glad I don't live down here year round.

Happy Easter! He is Risen!

Yesterday I managed to get myself and Nicklas ready early enough to make it to the Easter service (or most of it) and Sunday school. Afterwards we went to Nana and Papa's for lunch and for Nicklas, a much needed nap. I couldn't get the squirmer to sit still for pictures on the floor, so I managed to get a good one once I got him in his carseat.

Here he is trying to get the camera from me instead of letting me take his picture.

A bunch of his friends from our Sunday school class...trust me, this isn't enough half the number of babies we have at the moment. Most folks were out of town visiting family. In the green dress is Sadie Clair, Addision in the pink, and Corbin in the dark blue slacks.

All the babies going to a set of keys on the floor...Rusty tried to have a race with Nicklas and his grandson Corbin. I must say that Nicklas won by a landslide!

What a ham! I got this picture right after I found him chewing on a metal folding chair.

So many people asked me if I made him an Easter basket or took him Easter egg hunting, and I sheepishly told them no, amongst gasps of disbelief. Here's my defense...first of all, he's eight months old (as of Easter Sunday). He's not going to understand what an Easter basket, Easter eggs or the Easter bunny is. He'd just as soon chew on the remote control. Second, though making the child an Easter basket is fun, it's more fun for the parents than the child, who really only wants the candy (which he's too young for). And most importantly, the most important thing about Easter is the resurrection of our living Saviour, Jesus Christ. I'd like to think that I will do something special for Easter in the future; however, I'd like our primary focus to be on the true meaning of Easter first of all, avoiding the Easter bunny if at all possible.
Don't feel too bad for the kid. Nana made him an Easter basket, filled mostly with bath toys, teethers, and baby food. It was very nice of her to do.

This little monkey has figured out how to pull himself up on anything and everything. Here's some pictures of the first time I went into his room and found him standing there waiting for me. Now he's not content to sit down! Standing is the new sitting.

Uh oh...he's crawling!

It's amazing how fast he adapts to new challenges...just three days ago he was taking maybe one or two crawling steps and then giving up. Now he's moving so fast I can't turn my back for an instant. I've had to put everything up out of reach, and block the fireplace with folding chairs until I get some kind of screen to keep him out of there. I'm slowly but surely getting the house baby-proofed...but who's going to baby-proof me?

Here's some other cute pictures...

He's also figured out how to pull up on things. Here comes trouble!
